As TRICOL aims to produce 21st-century thinkers and leaders in science and technology, the teaching and learning of science is given a top priority. We have made significant investments in equipping our science laboratories, and our science teachers are regularly exposed to new methods in the teaching of the sciences.
Modestly stocked with the latest non-fiction, classics and fiction books, alongside a comprehensive reference section, the TRICOL library is the central resource centre of the college community. The shelves are continually filled with relevant resource materials. The library provides ample space for private study, and our students avail themselves of every opportunity there.
We place great emphasis on attaining the objectives of Secondary School Mathematics and its related curricular content. We aim to motivate students to learn and embrace Mathematics by making the teaching and learning process both exciting and appealing. With this, the students are well-equipped and adequately prepared to meet the requirements of various examination bodies before, during and after the examinations are conducted.
The department prepares the students for a lifetime of management and accountability. The subjects offered in the Social Science include: Economics, Accounting, Commerce, Government, Geography, Social Studies and Business Studies. Exposure to these subjects helps students to acquire knowledge for practical solution to economic problems of the society.
Music, Cultural & Creative Arts, Visual Art, Basic Technology, Technical Drawing, Home Economics, Foods & Nutrition, Clothing & Textiles, Auto Mechanics, Catering Craft, Dyeing & Bleaching are taught as vocational subjects in the college. Since TRICOL helps the students to get to grips with skills needed for the future, the vocational subjects aim at creating self-awareness and development of creative abilities in the students while working for the discovery of the hidden talents in them. In the vocational subjects, the mix of practical and theory work gives a perfect balance.
At TRICOL, we aid the brain functionality of our students by teaching English, French, Yoruba and Igbo languages. We provide dedicated audio-visual facilities to teach the French language and expose our students to foreign-based programmes. Excursions to France and other Francophone countries are planned into the schedule to enhance the teaching and learning of the subject. English is also taught as both first and second languages to accommodate our international students.
