As TRICOL aims at producing the 21st-century thinkers and leaders in a world of science and technology, the teaching/learning of science is given a top priority. This is demonstrated by the huge investment made in erecting and equipping two ultra-modern laboratories. The wide variety of excellent facilities is adequately utilized by our enthusiastic and competent science teachers while promoting hands-on-learning through experiments.
Music, Cultural & Creative Arts, Visual Art, Basic Technology, Technical Drawing, Home Economics, Foods & Nutrition, Clothing & Textiles, Auto Mechanics, Catering Craft, Dyeing & Bleaching are taught as vocational subjects in the college.
Since TRICOL helps the students to get to grips with skills needed for the future, the vocational subjects aim at creating self-awareness and development of creative abilities in the students while working for the discovery of the hidden talents in them. In the vocational subjects, the mix of practical and theory work gives a perfect balance.
The department prepares the students for a lifetime of management and accountability.
The subjects offered in the Social Science include: Economics, Accounting, Commerce, Government, Geography, Social Studies and Business Studies. Exposure to these subjects helps students to acquire knowledge for practical solution to economic problems of the society.
Languages taught in the college are English, French, Yoruba and Igbo. There are facilities for the teaching of French as a Foreign Language. Audio-visual facilities, exposure to foreign-based programmes, excursion to France and other Francophone countries are available. English Language is taught as both first and second languages to accommodate students from abroad. Yearly excursions to the Anglophone countries allow the students to experience the language first hand. The Liberal Arts comprise Literature-in-English, Christian Religious Studies, and Civic Education. The Department ensures that students participate actively in interesting and educative programmes, such as debates, drama, spelling bee, poem recitation competitions and other literary activities from time to time. These afford the students ample opportunity to acquire a wide variety of literary experiences.
Modestly stocked with the latest non-fiction, classics and fiction books, alongside a comprehensive reference section, the TRICOL library is the central resource centre of the college community. The shelves are continually filled with relevant resource materials. The library provides ample space for private study, and our students avail themselves of every opportunity there.
