Welcome to TRICOL
TRICOL is a forward-looking College, passionate about building a bridge between who and what a child is today and what he/she will be tomorrow. It is a school where children are trained to aspire to the top in all areas of their endeavours.
Our Aims and Objectives
Trinity International College emphasizes the development of students to their full potential in terms of intellectual, physical, spiritual and cultural qualities. The College provides broad, balanced and first-class education for the healthy development of the child. The educational aims of our College are quite remarkable for a twenty-first century Nigeria. They can be summarised as follows:
To provide rich, qualitative and balanced education for students of all backgrounds and instil in them a passion for intellectual and moral excellence.
To instil in students discipline, integrity, hard work and diligence as virtues to build life upon.
Our pursuit of excellence is unceasing. From our trained caregivers to our state-of-the-art facilities, we uphold the highest standards to offer an unparalleled care experience.
To provide functional education as well as professional guidance and counselling that fully develop broad-based innate abilities and talents of students to make them highly competent and effective in their pursuits.
To sensitize the students to the larger community and environment in which they live and prepare them to cope with their responsibilities within a diverse and rapidly-changing world, as tolerant, decent, helpful and peace-loving individuals.
To foster in children the spirit of teamwork and interdependence through a wide variety of activities and assignments, and encourage leadership traits in them.
To make teaching a sufficiently- rewarding and fulfilling career for all those who are endowed and have a call to pursue it.
To partner with God as well as with parents and guardians, foster mutual relationship and responsibilities, guide the healthy spiritual development of students, and enable them to develop into responsible, trustworthy and God- fearing persons.
The Vision
There is no gainsaying the fact that education is vital to human development. Realising this, nations have committed, and are still committing, themselves to developing their citizenry through qualitative education. However, at a time in our country, schools which were known for quality learning, credibility, standards, vision, safety and character- building, started degenerating, and became known for idleness, turpitude, revolt, violence, and even occultism. That was the catastrophe that a small group of Christians gathered to reflect on, just after Sunday service on 8th May, 1994. The burden was heavy, aggravated
by the fact that everyone just seemed to be watching, or at best, complaining about it. They recognized that something urgently needed to be done about the problem, and that action should be immediate. These Christians decided to get involved in building a Christian citadel of learning to train our children, the heritage of the Lord, as a defense against the onslaught from the kingdom of darkness. Thus, was born the vision to found “a first-class educational institution with a reputation for academic excellence and strong Christian values” This later found its actualization in what is today known as Trinity International College (TRICOL)
Discipline
The College encourages the development of self-discipline, a high standard of personal behaviour, courtesy, simple but decent dressing, and respect for other people and for property. This, we believe, will assist the school community to function effectively, and enable all students benefit from the range of opportunities. Breaches attract sanctions. Major misconduct is referred to the Disciplinary Committee and later to the Principal. The students’ code of conduct is in the force and each student has a copy. To avoid unnecessary distractions, the College discourages exeats for social occasions like marriage, birthday and funeral ceremonies. However, they are allowed to mark their own birthdays moderately in school on the visiting day of the month of their birth.
Students’ comments on discipline
In every aspect of life in TRICOL, DISCIPLINE is infused in different ways. This discipline prepares us for life beyond the gates of TRICOL. It is sometimes tough, but we know it is for our own good. On entering TRICOL, discipline plays a major role in our behaviour and conduct both in and out of the College. TRICOL makes discipline grow from being a habit to becoming a lifestyle.
Discipline is a core value in Trinity. The code of conduct contains the rules and regulations of the school and sanctions if disobeyed. It is firm and just. The enforcement of discipline in Trinity has set a very high standard for students and has a unique way of transforming misbehaving students into hardworking, responsible, God-fearing and respectful individuals.
